Ms. B is a 54-year old single woman who works as a child care provider. She first came to WSCAH in 2007 and reported that she suffers from chronic diabetes and high blood pressure. Her physician recently informed her that she must lower her sugar and sodium intake. Ms. B enrolled in WSCAH’s Customer Chef Training Program that fall and learned new skills for eating and preparing healthy meals within a reasonable budget. After graduating from the program, Ms. B reported that her blood pressure and diabetes conditions had stabilized and she lost weight. Furthermore, she was able to increase her income by cooking for her employer full-time.
